Incredibly strange and downright mystifying “Smells Like Baby Powder” feels nearly otherworldly, courtesy of the taut guitar work and sampled baby sounds. An absolute blast Kostis Chaveles delves into a cinematic approach while the song grows ever larger. Energetic to its very core “The Monk” reveals a true knack for storytelling as the song’s story becomes quite immersive. “Mr Negative” at times feels reminiscent of Steve Albini’s stripped down raw work with Shellac. Easily the highlight of the collection which ties everything together is the muscular title track “Happy Life”. With this absolute beast of a track, Kostis Chaveles rushes towards the collection’s finale with an unhinged spirit.
